The Bower is a local institution; a business that’s served Christchurch's east for more than 100 years, and a place where people from all walks of life can come to enjoy great food, a refreshing drink, and the company of good friends. Since the earthquakes The Bower has changed considerably, having been totally reinvented in order to meet the ever-evolving needs of

the community. The result is a contemporary suburban restaurant, café and bar housed inside 18 interconnected shipping containers. The new look tavern has been designed to accommodate a wide range of patrons, from workers out to enjoy a cold beverage after a long week on the tools, to families looking to share a meal and spend some quality time together.
